About
I’m Saurav — an developer-turned-product manager in Mumbai.
By day I’m the Senior Technical Product Manager (and sole PM) at AP Guru, where I own a multi-sided EdTech platform used by 1,300+ students, teachers, and admins every day, supporting ₹12 Cr+ in annual course revenue. I joined as an Associate PM when the platform ran two courses; three years and two promotions later it runs 300+ courses across 10+ exam types, and I lead product for a team of 15 engineers, a designer, and four marketing fellows.
The work I care about most sits where product meets systems: redesigning a core test data model so one platform could score everything from SAT to IB, moving an entire organization’s scheduling out of Excel and into timezone-aware software, and building the role-based access and approval workflows that replaced five years of email-and-spreadsheet operations.
Before product, I took the scenic route: business ops (where I first touched QA and release management and got hooked on how software gets made), six client websites shipped as a freelance web developer, and a stint writing content professionally — including bringing Guinness World Records on as a client by spotting an unoccupied category and seeing the submission through to a certified record.
This site is part of the story too. It’s a Hugo site I migrated off Hashnode and host free on GitHub Pages — the first post is about exactly that.
